Ludis Morales, Ph.D is a Titular staff profesor of Biochemistry and an affiliate member of the Nutrition and Biochemisry Department at Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia. She received an undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry and received her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences at the University of Javeriana. During her doctoral studies she had an excellent research training in the University of Florida, College of Medicine, Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, US.


Dr. Morales laboratory has a priority in evaluating molecules with therapeutic potential. The focus on her research group includes undestanding the mechanisms of signaling and regulation of receptor-ligand interactions associated with angiogenesis and proliferation. She has 40 publications among international and national journals.


Besides her wide experience as a senior researcher, Dr. Morales has an extensive experience (more than 20 years) teaching to graduate and undergraduate students, being also mentor of several master and Ph.D students. She has been in several administrative positions, the last one as the Head of the Nutrition and Biochemistry Department for 8 years at Javeriana University. She also owns special experience in evaluating, developing and management research projects.

She is a profesional with training in Biochemistry and human cell physiology, as well as extensive experience in teaching in graduate and undergraduate courses. Also, has great expertise in evaluating and management research projects. She has a strong background in administrative positions, the last one as head of the Department of Biochemistry and Nutrition at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, for eight years.


Her research experience fundamentally lies in evaluating molecules with therapeutic potential, whether they come from a synthetic or natural source. Priorities of her research group include undestanding the mechanisms of signaling and regulation of receptor-ligand interactions associated with angiogenesis and proliferation. Finally, she has mentored undergraduate, masters, and doctoral studies.
