BIOGRAPHY

 

José Ruiz Chico has a degree in Economic and Business Sciences from the University of Extremadura and a PhD from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, in the Department of "Economics and Agricultural Social Sciences". His doctoral thesis was "Analysis of the value of the traceability of Spanish meat products", with the highest grade.


Since 2010, he is a professor at the University of Cádiz (Spain), in the Department of General Economics and in the area of Analytical Economics, teaching Macroeconomics and Microeconomics courses at the undergraduate level in Business Administration and Management. Marketing and Market Research, as well as in Masters, especially in Agri-Food and Management and Public Administration. Previously, he was a professor at the University of Wales (UK) for ten years.


He has more than fifty publications in books and indexed journals on food and the primary sector, highlighting work on agri-food competitiveness both regionally and internationally. In the same way, he has presented his research results in some forty prestigious national and international congresses. He has also participated in several research projects related to agri-food and tourism.
